May 5, 2000- Grand Conjunction In the year 2000, a major grand conjunction occurred.  This  conjunction aligned Mercury to Saturn in a single line.  Unfortunately, the Earth was on the other side of the Sun.  Observers saw all planets in a single location in the sky only during the daytime.       Sep 7, 2040 -Mercury to Jupiter Shows the conjunction pairs associated with the Grand Conjunction of 2040. Although this event occurs over a one month period, only around September 6-8 will the planets be most favorably aligned.
